The beef that we raise on the farm is Grass and Grain Fed. I utilize that phrase because we do not raise a 100% grass fed beef.  The farms focus for beef is Prime Beef.  We raise for tenderness,  quality and taste. We only raise a small number of beef cattle so each animal has our personal attention.  We rotate the animals between fields.  The way we raise cattle is sustainable and does not impact the land.

We never bring cattle on the farm until the previous herd is totally off the farm for at least 3 months.  The reason why we follow this routine is to protect the new herd before it enters the property.  It also gives the land an opportunity to regenerate and kill off any parasites and biologicals that might have been present with the previous herd.  We want healthy animals and we want them to have enough fresh green grass and plenty of fresh clean water to drink.   This allows our cattle to live a happy farm life with no stress.

Before any of our cattle are sent off to be processed they are brought into a smaller field which we call intake/outtake - this allows them to run freely for a day, then they are moved to our loading pen, then into the trailer.  This eliminates stress and prevents black meat.  Happy animals produce high quality products.
